5 Best Kid's Apps For the iPad

Many parents know how great an iPhone can be to keep the kids busy. Even if you don't allow them an iPhone of their own, most parents hesitate very little at trading it for a few moments of peace.
Now that the iPad is out, a whole new generation of apps is being released just for the increased display ability. Just about all apps that work on the iPhone work with the iPad, but iPad-specific apps have a noticeable difference in quality. Many developers have been quick to release upgraded versions of their iPhone apps for the iPad and Apple allows you to download the upgrades free if you have already purchased them for your iPhone.
If you are an Apple fan and already purchased your new iPad, it is only natural to want to share your excitement with your children. Here are 5 of the best kid's apps for the iPad:
1. 123 Color HD ($.99 by Steve Glinsberg) - 123 Color HD is a talking coloring book available in English, Spanish, French, and German. It is already being hailed as the #1 educational iPad app. This is "the" app for kids. It is fun, never scolds for doing something wrong, and rewards kids with celebratory sound effects and swirling stars for coloring the images correctly. This means kids have fun when they do it wrong but strive to get it right. The detail of the iPad version is much-improved over the iPhone.
2. Ace Omicron ($.99 by Casey Gatti) - Ace Omicron is fun spaceship shooter game with a new and improved version just for the iPad. All versions are in the same download, with the correct version for your device installing automatically. This game is the 21st century Asteroids and kids love shooting up the giant rocks and enemy ships alike. Graphics and sound are second-to-none. There's not much educational here, but it sure grabs their attention. Three modes of play are available: Classic, Hyper, and Twilight.
3. Fling! ($.99 by CandyCane LLC) - Fling! is a simple puzzle game involving loveable "furballs." It is incredibly addictive for children and adults alike. The soundtrack to the game is upbeat and makes kids feel like they are having fun as they are challenging their brain and sense of logic. Gamplay occurs by touching a furball and flicking it in a direction to knock off other colored furballs. The game features 10,000 different puzzles across 19 levels of gameplay. Modes include Arcade, Free Play, and Challenge.
4. Faces iMake ($.99 by iMagine Machine LLC) - Faces iMake is from the creator of popular apps Itsy Bitsy Spider and Halloween. This app is all about creativity and imagination. Faces are put together from different basic images and colors, and they can be stored in a gallery for the young artist. This app is still in the iPhone version, but on the iPad it is even better. The app comes with tutorial lessons so kids can quickly learn how to maximize their fun.
5. Sneezies HD ($4.99 by Chillingo Ltd.) - Sneezies HD will set you back a little more than the other apps listed here, but it is well worth the price. The HD graphics of this game complement the soothing gameplay, making it almost hypnotic. The Sneezies characters are another version of the "furball" and they just drip in cuteness. Called both a casual and melodic game, Sneezies HD requires only a single free finger and a little bit of attention. Over 60 levels of increasing difficulty are included.

The Best iPad App

The iPad is capitalising on the enormous popularity of its diminutive predecessor whether by accident or design. Apps on the iPhone were one of its strongest selling features so it is easy to wonder what the best iPad app will be. Will the market for apps remain the same as it was before or will the market take this new technology and make new leaps in imagination and creativity?
The larger screen has got to count for something in the app development world. Complaints of cramped controls spoiled the reviews of many games. Productivity and documentation apps suffered from the lost time spent grasping at the screen to zoom in and out while peering like a demented madman at 0.00001 size fonts.
The Amazon's Kindle looks like a strong opening contender for the best iPad App and the physical and electronic headlines of the world seem to agree. The app works well is appearing on many platforms and to be honest anything that gets the world reading again must be a good thing,
Many people will still be rooting for games and hot favourites like "Nazi Zombies" or perhaps even full installations of Call of Duty may be possible. Countless hours of work and social life have been lost to the gangster type multiplayer games that have been cloned time and time again on the iPhone. Built with very little "game play" in mind will their lack of depth suffer as the device they run on grows?
Don't rule out some of the more interesting utilities like virtual desktop applications giving you control of your desktop while away from home. Even if you were worried about any of the proposed shortcomings of the iPad, you could make up for them with the power of your home computer. Hit a flash heavy site while browsing? No problem, just load the right app and run a browser at home.
The fight for the kudos of being the best iPhone app is still not over and we are billions of downloads down the line so the fight to be the best iPad app could just as eternal.

How to Create an iPhone Game

Do you want to create your own iPhone game? The iPhone is one of the most popular mobile phones. It has raked in millions of sales with every release of their iPhone model. The reason why the iPhone has been so popular is because of its all-in-one approach to mobile phones. They have provided a way for users to access the Internet, make calls, text, play games as well as use lots of applications.

It is with this reason that creating a game specifically designed for the iPhone is a profitable venture. Once you launch your game, you will be able to reap the benefits of a passive income source by simply having your app in the Apple App Store.
So if are you ready to create your own iPhone game, here are some things you can do.
1) Get Acquainted with the Different Programs You Can Use:
iPhone games are created using different programs such as XCode and OpenGL. If you are a coder, then you do not need to put up with the steep learning curve. After all, creating iPhone games may entails different coding compared to websites and other programs. It is better if you will get yourself acquainted with these programs if you really want to bring your game to life.
2) Browse Tutorials:
A quicker way to create your own iPhone game is to browse some tutorials online. Some people are able to create their own iPhone game using different programs. Some which I found include the use of Cocos2D and GameSalad. These tutorials are highly customizable. You only need to know how other programmers have done it.
3) Plan Your Game:
But if you are not a programmer, you will do better by planning your game. You can do this by sketching how your game will look like and what things it can do. Sketching in an iPhone screen stencil will also help you. Be sure to be highly specific about this. It will save both you and your team the time in understanding what type of game you like to be created.
4) Hire a Pixel Artist:
Of course, a game will not be complete without design elements. You will need someone to design the characters, the menus and the maps. You will also need a pixel artist to design your windows. Conduct a search online so you can find some experience artists. Look for someone who is passionate about their craft and be sure to review their samples so you have a clear idea on what you will get.
5) Hire a Game Developer:
And if you do not know how to code your game, hire a game developer. You can easily find these people on websites like Rentacoder.com and other freelancer websites. As with the pixel artist, be sure to carefully review the portfolio of your game developer. If they have experience in coding other iPhone applications or games, then they may be the best candidate for the job.
From here, the actual game creation is easy. All you need to do is just work closely with your team until your game come to life.

Best Games for iPad: Top 3 Most Addicting Games

When it comes to choosing the best games for iPad, you are well advised to look at what other people are finding entertaining. The more addicting a game is, the more likely you are to want to play over and over again and as a result get the best value for money. This is my top 3:
1.     Angry Birds. This has been the most popular game for a good reason: it is one of the most addicting games for iPad, and once you become drawn into the world of evil pigs and vengeful birds it is hard to put it down. The premise is as follows: the pigs have stolen the birds eggs and the various birds are trying to attack the pigs dens which are shelters constructed from a variety of materials. Each bird has a different destructive characteristic, and it is your job to propel each bird toward the shelters at the precise angle required to do the most damage using a catapult. It is a fantastic app and one of the best iPad games available.

2.     Flight control. Your job as air traffic controller is to land as many planes as you can safely. You have 4 different kinds of aircraft travelling at different speeds which have to be landed on the correct runways without them colliding with each other. As the game goes on there are more and more planes so you job becomes increasingly difficult. This is a family favourite and has been for many months now, so I can safely say it is addicting and one of the best games for iPad.

3.     Mathris. A highly entertaining and addicting game for iPad, Mathris is especially good for children and anyone wanting to brush up on arithmetic skills. On each level there is a target number, and as numbered balls fall into the screen your aim is to tap balls that add up to the target. As they are tapped they disappear from the screen in a Tetris™- style fashion, and you must not let the screen fill up. The target number keeps changing to keep you on your toes. Simple and entertaining, mathris is one of the best free games for iPad.
There are many thousands of games available in the app store now, so it is good to have some guidance as to the best iPad games available. Stick with this selection for a really good choice of best games for iPad.

5 Best Free Games for iPad: Confessions of a Gameaholic

An iPad has become a wonderful gaming platform leaving other consoles merely toys. To tell you the truth, I have become a gamaholic with the release of Apple's tablet computer. This gadget has even changed my daily routine.

I used to get up early in the morning, check my email and spend half an hour reading news, hot stories and preparing for my classes. And now I start my morning searching for the new games for iPad. I launch the App Store and run through game reviews to download another free app or game and test it before sharing it with my friends.
This device has become an iconic for many people. It quickly replaces popular gaming consoles since more and more developers create iOS games that are not only cool and fun to play but also free to get.
Here are the best free games for iPad that I cannot stop playing. They are very addictive.
1. PIY 4 HD is a great free game for music fans. Its full name is PlayItYourself 4 HD. This game will not teach you how to play the piano, but you will feel what it is like to be a musician, and maybe you'll even consider learning to play the piano one day in the future.
You score by following the notes highlighted on your screen. The music is amazing, no matter how quick or slow you are. So your children should enjoy it as well as you.
You can play only one melody in the beginning of this game. It is Beethoven's Fur Elise. But you can unlock other tunes by scoring and spending your points on the new unlocks.
2. Angry Birds Free HD Rio: If you have ever played Angry Birds you should know how addictive this game is. It's one of the best iOS games ever developed.
The Rio version of Angry Birds includes 12 cool levels. The graphics are amazing. You get to "send your birds" flying in Rio de Janeiro and fight against monkeys. Your main goal is, surely, to free your friends.
If you ever get tired of fun levels, just play beach ball game instead.
3. Words With Friends HD Free: It is one of my favorite free games ever. It is the best version of a popular childhood game.
You can play it with millions of iPad users from all over the world. Build new words, score and challenge your family to bit you in this fun game of word building.
You can enjoy 20 games at one time and invite your Facebook friends to compete with you.
4. AD Jewels ShooterHD: This game is perfect for the fans of Zuma. Do you remember that bubble shooter? Well, AD Jewels ShooterHD is a great "zuma" game for the iPad.
You can choose one of the four modes available. It is easy to play. Simply connect at least three diamonds of one color and they will be destroyed. Your game will come to an end if the stack reaches the bottom.
Place your finger where you want the diamond to shoot, and then release it.
5. GT Racing: Motor Academy Free+ HD: It is difficult to find the best racing games among all the free games available. They are all cool and fun to play, but still I have found a couple of apps that I can't stop playing.
GT Racing is one of them. It is free and it lets you challenge your driving skills. You need to win races in order to unlock new cars and racing events. There is an option to buy multipliers and packs from your game for users who are impatient to unlock vehicles and events.
